ReplyDeleteWhat i learned about the distributive property is that you can use it for all orperations.
For example, you could do 8(5+4) or 5(17-8)

DeleteMy topic is Order Of Operations. I learned that you always have to use the technique PEMDAS. What I mean by that is: It stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication or Division, Addition or Subtraction. Whenever your doing a problem with parentheses or an exponent you always have to do it this way. Remember to do it in the order PEMDAS. That is what I learned doing the Order Of Operations. Here Are Some Examples:

ReplyDeleteI learned that you have to use subtraction to solve a multiplication or division equivalent problem in algebra.
Example:
24 x 32 = (24 x 25) + 24 x _ (you would have to find 32 - 25)

ReplyDeleteI learned that variables can be confusing because they are letters but, the letter is basically blank or box.
Example: 4+n=10 which is the same as 4+_=10

Commutative Properties of Addition and Multiplication
ReplyDeleteI learned that in order to do the commutative property, you have to basically switch around the placement of the numbers. Meaning that even with parentheses, just switch it around!
Example: (23x42)x9=(42x9)x23

ReplyDeleteI learned that when you multiply a number by one it will always be the number it is being multiplied. Also I learned that when you multiply a number by zero it will always be zero no matter what.

ReplyDeleteI learned what PEMDAS is.That is P for parenthesis, E for exponents, M for multiplication, D for division, A for addition, and S for subtraction. It has to be done in order or the answer will be incorrect.

I used equations with variables. I learned if it tells the answer and the first number you can guess the variables. 17+x=20 x= 3.
